Frequently Asked Questions
When should i order my invitations?
Make sure to inquire with us at least 6-8 months before your wedding for fully custom invitations and at least 4-5 months before your wedding for semi-custom invitations. But the earlier, the better! We love having plenty of time with each of our clients to provide a tailored, stress-free experience. Our calendar does fill up quickly, so don’t hesitate to reach out early!
how many invitations should I order?
When putting together your guest list, make sure to group couples & families together. Your total guest count will be higher than the number of invitations you’ll send out! Once you’ve figured out the total number of invitations that you need based on your guest list, we always recommend ordering 10-15 more than you think you need. That allows for you to have extras on hand in case you add someone to your guest list. It also allows you to have a few keepsakes for you & your soon-to-be spouse, as well as parents and grandparents.
when should i mail my invitations?
Wedding invitations should be mailed 10 to 12 weeks prior to the wedding.
what should my “reply by” date be?
We always recommend checking with your venue and/or caterer to see when they need a final headcount. We usually suggest a date roughly 4 weeks before the wedding to allow for gathering late RSVPs and coming to a final number.
what printing methods do you offer?
Flat printed invitations are digitally printed so that the ink is “flat” or smooth on the paper. With flat printed options, the sky is the limit on the number of colors we can print.
Letterpress invitations are printed using a letterpress machine that literally “presses” the ink into the paper. You can feel the impression made by the letterpress when you rub your hands over the paper (that’s not weird, right?). Letterpress is priced by the number of ink colors you use. Only certain designs will work for letterpress.
Embossing is when a design is raised from the surface of the paper. Ink is not added during this printing process. Only certain designs will work for embossing.
Foil stamping is accomplished by sheets of foil being stamped onto the paper, giving you a true shine. Foil stamping is priced by the number of colors you use. Only certain designs will work for foil stamping.
Any combination of these printing methods can be combined for a really beautiful end result. We also offer die cutting (think fun shapes) and edge painting.
If I choose Semi-custom invitations, what can I customize?
All of the colors & wording! The fonts & design elements will stay the same.
